I Have a Question

Ever since I've lived in this place for almost 5 yrs ive been literally living on no income. and i mean literally. I live on foodstamps and medicaid and i get grants for school but thats it. Right now im not doing good in school and im on academic probation so I might not be able to. I have hud too. since Ive lived here I cant seem to make friends, not even to go out for coffee with, so i rarely go out except with a friend ive known from somewhere else that i used to live with.

I dont like where i live and now as Im typing this Im hearing construction noise all the time. Im in school but not sure how long that will last and dont feel like i have the right environment to study in anyways.

I cant find work no matter what I do here and to be honest Im started to get fed up with the place, even my neighbors arent friendly.

Now this family down in texas has been interested in me being their nanny. Its live in. I dont like snow and ice either. They seem like real nice people and they dont seem to be interviewing anyone else cause ive asked them. Its a christian family too.

I feel like i have nothing here anyways and theyd be paying for my airfare and relocation costs. Just wondered if I should take the risks, theyve been emailing with me regularly for months now, the mom is on maternity leave so she needs someone by mid feb,so i wondered if id be smart to take it. im on academic probation so if i dont do good in school i'll lose my only source of money anyways. any suggestions? i could use a change of scenery anyways since i hate where i live and dont mind being elsewhere and i doubt i'll be homesick. Im just scared about trying something new like this. any suggestions? so should i take this

Pearl, I am sorry life is severe for you so much. You must do what feels right for you. If this family is honourable and fair and kind, it would seem good. Do you get a decent pay from them? Can they provide references for you to check upon? Do you get regular holidays off? What will they do if you need medications or sick time? These are important questions. I think you are rather lovable. I wish people would be friendly towards you. Think carefully. Can you try it out and go back to school without penalties if you want?

This is very good advice. Listen to her Pearl. She is wise and practical. Just don't wait too long to decide. Mid February is only a month away. Do your due diligence, but don't dilly dally or you could lose a chance that may not come again.

Good luck. Whatever you choose, I hope it works out to be the best thing for you.

@Serenitree: Thank you my sister. I only offer what is practical and truthful. I like Pearl. She deserves a great, simple life. I keep wishing this for her.
