I was in the YMCA's Indian Guides, and even there, we did crafts.
Boys just want to run around and play war, LOL!

Looking back it seems so wrong, white kids pretending to be Native Americans and likely promoting stereotypes. Makes me shudder.
And the YMCA supposedly is a Christian organization, and I am not a Christian. Never was.
I would have been better joining a club of geeks. In high school I did attend a few astronomy club meetings, LOL! But even that was hard for an introvert like me. I also had no equipment.

@JoyfulSilence Yeah that does seem a bit stereotypical 😣 Is YMCA INdian guides similar to boy scouts? I never wondered if boys also did crafts there!?

I never was a Boy Scout, but I assume Indian Guides was similar. We had meetings, went camping, etc. I did not learn any survival skills, however! I do not recall getting badges.
I played flag football for a YMCA league.
