what can you do about neighbours noise in the daytime

the woman neighbour in the apartment below me, i hear her music from her sound system often through the daytime...she doesn't exactly blast it, but i still hear it through my floor, the walls are thin and it disturbs my peace and quiet?

i live in a 4 storey apartment block, i live on the 3rd floor, she lives on the 2nd floor....is there anything i can do about hearing her noise in the day?

I once lived on the bottom floor of a two story apartment building, and the walls were as thin as paper. We could hear EVERYTHING in the apartment above, and they could hear every little squeak when I walked across the floor, even if I was trying to be quiet.

One time, the neighbors upstairs decided to have a little party on the porch downstairs, right next to the head of my bed. There was no way I could sleep. I didn't want to be mean, so I wrote a note to my neighbors directly instead of notifying the landlord. I told my neighbors that the porch window is right next to my bed and asked them not to party there anymore.

THAT backfired. They THOUGHT I must have notified the landlord, even though I had not, and the REVENGE began. They called the landlord and complained because I had gotten out of bed one night at 2 a.m. and I had WALKED over the squeaky floor to get a slice of cheese out of the fridge.

The neighbor upstairs met the landlord RIGHT OUTSIDE MY FRONT DOOR, so that I had no choice but to overhear him complaining.

And here is what the landlord said: "She pays her rent on time every month, and she has the right to LIVE. How she can live without walking, I don't know."

If your neighbor is not blasting her music, I would tell you that she has the right to live, and if you don't like hearing that not so loud music, consider buying some of these:

They are noise cancelling, and quite comfortable. I use them ALL the time.

One of my upstairs neighbors has a VERY loud and annoying voice, and she NEVER shuts up.

@4meAndyou thankyou for answering again, i realise when i think about it that she isn't doing anything wrong that its me being too sensitive or wussy, i suppose ill just have to be tolerant and put my own music or sounds on when i can hear her noise.

@darkmere1983 OR buy those ear plugs! They aren't that expensive! I wear them when I really NEED peace and quiet! AND at night, so every little sound doesn't wake me up!
