How come eyelashes don't keep growing like the hair on the head?

Like how come eyelashes don't keep growing down to the floor like the hair on our head.

It's the gene sequence in the local area. Eyelashes fall out all the time, as I'm sure you've noticed. Each eyelash has a much shorter lifespan than a hair follicle on top of your head. Eyelashes fall out when their lifespan is done. But then the eyelash follicle produces another.

@HumanEarth probably same reason my chest hair doesnt either. Falls off and sheds at a certain point.
@Rokan So women should effectively be bald, then, since they have lower levels of testosterone...
