The big one was mom and dad moving my siblings and I across the country to attend a missionary college for two and a half years.

@thepeculiarpanda Do you feel like being constantly relocated helped you become more adaptable, or did it make you more hesitant to form lasting connections with others?

@iamrainfrog A bit of both honestly, I'm good at adapting but I also have a really hard time holding onto friends or letting people get close to me. After the third or fourth friend group has moved on, it started to feel like a waste of time. 😅
We ended up moving twice more after that as my dad pastored different churches and then moved five miles down the road from where I grew up which is where they still are.
I ended up disabled too thanks to them ignoring my health along the way so I'm a bit bitter about it all while still being appreciative of some of the experiences and the worldview gave me.
Life is too complicated haha.

@thepeculiarpanda Yeah, life is too complicated indeed. I get that it's tough when you keep having to start over with friends. Thanks as well for sharing this to me I appreciate it.❤

@iamrainfrog It's really hard to trust people now and especially after the health stuff I've been through. Also just hard to go through it again and again, ya know? Plus, I've been so isolated since I got sick that I just don't really know how to interact with the outside world anymore. Makes it hard to form friendships and stuff. 😅

@thepeculiarpanda That makes total sense. Going through stuff like that can make it hard to trust and connect with people. Take your time with it—you’ve been through a lot. If you ever want to talk or just vent, I’m here.

@iamrainfrog I appreciate it! It's all been going on since 2010 with the disability and I'm just so over it haha. My lower half has been toning itself since I first got sick which has meant constant cramping and tenseness from my hips to my toes. Didn't find out until a year ago that it's all coming from spinal cord damage that my doctors just neglected to tell me about. 🤦🏻
Been working on my core a lot lately though and I can finally balance on the balls of my feet again though so woo!!
