On Saturday we were talking about a Mens Bible Study group that meets on Tuesday mornings. I said I asked about attending and was told they are taking the summer off. An acquaintance told me that the men are meeting on Tuesday mornings for breakfast at Perkins and I should go. I was thinking to myself Right! I am going to go to a restaurant. Ask for a group of guys I don't know and say hi. I am here for 🥞 and to talk about joining your Bible Study in the fall. I don't think so! That is way to far out of my comfort zone.

I agree with you. I wouldn't bother going either.
What those guys are showing you is that they belong to an exclusive men's club, not a Bible Study group. For them to tell you they are taking the summer off, but then never invited you to join 'them' for pancakes at a restaurant, is telling you that their Bible Study group actually serves as a facade for the clique-group of like-minds who use the church as a self-serving stage for their own gain.
Word of advice.. when someone shows you who they are and what they're all about but you just can't believe it, just believe them.
