I think most people are (self included) in their own way.
We save pictures,whe have safekeeps of milestones in our life
We attached symbolic value in the form of ritual to various aspects of our culture.
Be hard pressed to find anyone who has nothing in their past (and even more so with older people) that doesn't get them teary eyed.
