How do they put the air in the bubble wrap?

How does the air get in the bubbles, do they inject it in or what?. But if they inject the air in won’t that leave a hole in it and cause the air to escape?

My mum just got some packages so there’s a lot of bubble wrap in the house so she said I can pop it but I’m feeling a little curious.

The plastic is squeezed together which traps the air already present between the layers. Some bubbles have more air than others because of this.
