When going to a restaurant with someone, do you prefer to sit across from them or next to them?

Depends on the situation and the view...

I would normally sit across from them, as more room and you can see all sides better if something interesting happens.

But also, I rather not just sit looking at a blank wall if I know.them and we're not going to be talking much
