I Have a Question

Why do people dislike bluntness and why is it often associated with impoliteness? It's just a person expressing themselves without sugarcoating things. They earn respect from me,too many politically correct people anyway.

I rather have someone be direct with me than to beat around the bush. But I do think people need to be respectful of other's feelings. Being direct and being blunt are 2 very different things in my perspective.

I'll be as direct as possible without being blunt. But if a woman asks me if she looks fat in those jeans I'm going to use all the sugarcoating I can find if she does 😝

It's all in the delivery. People can express themselves without having to be a d*ck.
Although I get that it's necessary to be that way with some, for the most part, being civilized doesn't mean you're selling out.

I am blunt. It upsets some, but in the end, they can't help but love it. Mum calls me a polite asshole.

They're taught that being politically correct is the best thing ever, though I think it's better not to say the truth if it hurts too much, especially when we don't know how strong the person is to handle it
I couldn't agree more!! 👍

Because people get their sensitive feelings hurt with bluntness. I personally prefer blunt than sugarcoated and I am blunt most times.
I'm agreeing with Originalme.. actually, I posted a story about this subject.
