Why do people put carpets inside kitchens and bathrooms?

Seems like the worst place, easy to get a carpet to stink up because water or even food exposure

It’s terrible! I had a rental that I lived in for 5 years that has a cream coloured carpet throughout, including the kitchen. 🤦🏻‍♀️

@BittersweetPotato I actually kept it relatively clean and one shampoo job when I moved out and it looked almost new.
