I Have a Question

This is a question for the ladies for SW - I really suck at starting a conversation with woman in real life, what would be the best way or more appropriate way to start a conversation? Complementing on body parts (nice smile, eyes etc) or clothing?

You have totally bad intentions.. Complementing strange women on how attractive they are is strange at best and perhaps even creepy

Hence I am asking here. Someone suggested complimenting is the best way but it does sounds odd for me to complement a total stranger.
