I Have a Question

Being myself gets awkward lol. I am trying to break out of the cycle. Only if I can have a friend who could give me some pointers on to do and not to do.

If there is an activity that is going on in town that you both can go together to then ask of she'd like to join you.
You must be a shy guy..
I think if you surround yourself with people and just start up conversations and socializing you won't spin the same groove, you will find comfort in your own abilities. Then when you approach someone you like then you won't be as shy or stale.

@NoraOnora: Yes I am a shy person hence the question. The only place I meet people outside work is the Yoga class I go to. I have been meaning to make small talk but haven't been successful so far.

Yoga class is a really good place to start :) lucky guy!
Start with the teacher. Ask where they where certified to teach yoga ans start asking other questions...
That would be my suggestion
If its a student in class, you can ask how they found this class, how long they've been registered, etc..

@NoraOnora: I talk with the instructor regularly. I just can't seem to find words to say to the others. Most of the people in the class is lot older than me.

I'm a dance instructor and I find that some of my customers/students are a little shy and I usually get to know their names and give them recognition for various reasons. They may have on a cute outfit, have a great groove or whatever and it helps.
So, I've also gone as far as introducing students to one another in small talk after or before class. It helps bring walls down and ppl have been able to be less shy. I love when ppl become friends.
Maybe you can speak w your Yoga instructor, sharing this topic with them and see if your instructor can maybe ask the customers out for coffee after class. This starts fun times and conversation happens organically.

i don't think it will be awkward for her. Maybe you can invite people and make it a fun adventure. You never know how fun it can turn out to be

Or... I'm not sure where you are in the world, but there's this activities group called MeetUp and they have "meetups" all the time. I attend them alone and I end up meetimg all sorts of cool people. I've met up for a dragon rowing team, a few hiking adventures, a work out group, a singing group, a comedy/kareoke meet up gathering, several paranormal investigation meet up groups, storytelling one.... you may love it!
