Why would grocery products be cheap for members only?🤔

If they charge a membership fee like Costco there is a modicum of rationale, but then only members are supposedly allowed to shop there so there shouldn't be any distinction in pricing. The duo-pricing schemes pushed by outfits like Safeway, where there is no membership fee but you have to sign up as a member -- i.e., turn over all your telephone and Internet ID info so they can cookie you and direct market you -- in order to avoid artificially inflated prices for the general public is marketing run amok. Like @Really, I despise the practice and will not play the game.

It's prob because members pay a pn annual membership fee or other fee.

Like Costco ? Shoppers pay for membership, and buy in bulk at a discount. So it does make a certain sense. I have a couple of friends with Costco memberships, which work well for them (large families). Occasionally they’ll pick up something for me, and I reimburse them for the items. But a membership would be wasted money for only me.
