A train is running down a track which has five people on it

You can flip a switch that would divert the train to a track with only one person on it. Should you flip the switch?

I wouldn't.

I can see why someone would. It's the pragmatic choice, and seems to make sense, but it would mean that I was choosing to kill the other person.

@SW-UserGood point, however, it could be argued that your inaction led to the deaths of 5 people.

@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz true but I would justify it to myself by saying that I had no choice, and that the blame lies with whatever loon is going about tying people to railway tracks 😅
