To flip the switch I am actively choosing to kill someone.
To not flip the switch I am passively watching people die.
How do I know that saving the 5 is better than killing the 1? Quantity vs quality.

I can see why someone would. It's the pragmatic choice, and seems to make sense, but it would mean that I was choosing to kill the other person.
