Use buds in ears?

It says on the box, "Do not insert into ear canal" Does anybody ever pick the cotton buds up, read that, and not clean their ears out?

I saw a story on Q-Tips the other day and a company rep said their product, above all, is not meant to be inserted into the ear. I was confounded, 'cause what else are Q-Tips for?! Outside of cleaning something small once in awhile, I've only ever used them in my ears.

And yes, I know it's not good for the ears but waxy, wet ears are not good for the image.
