does anyone know why yahoo answers got shut down?

i know they probably wont tell us but back in nov i got a call from a policeman saying someone from ya was threatening me and he wondered if i was okay, and i wondered if others were being threatened too and if thats why they shut it down, i took a couple of wks off so the person would lose me, i miss helping people in the family section there and have been using it since 2008, so does anyone know why?

I don't know, have not messed with yahoo in a long time, remember when they had the messenger, was kind of fun.

They also got rid of their comment section for articles. I imagine it was a pain in the ass with all of the pervs, libel, trolls, etc. Too much oversight, paying for people to monitor.

YA is going down the tubes and they are slowly getting rid of almost every section in their website.
It's been going on for 7 or 8 years and Yahoo answers was very toxic, already got rid of comments on articles in Yahoo. They suck and are killing themselves off

Wanted to make room for better service venues and products. Free content was not making them that much money anymore. Plus the merge forced them to do it.

@Zonuss Yahoo has been making bad decision after bad decision for years. They killed their relevance. I didn't know about the merger.
Remb Yahoo classifieds, Yahoo games, Yahoo dating, it went on and on.
