I Have a Question

Some last night some guy was talking about how similar Trump and Hitler are.

I mentioned that I study hard on history especially human atrocities and have a difficult time finding the similarity between the two.

So instead of answering me why he supports his claim he blocked me. Which is fine.

But I’m curious what you guys might think the similarities are.

Try to be educated on this.

I said that there were parallels between how Hitler engaged his followers when he was coming to power and how Trump has maintained hold on his supporters, including the pithy sayings.
Both boosted the egos of those they would lead with racist rhetoric, dividing them against anyone seen as “other” and charging that such people living within their midst are the reason for any hardships they’re experiencing. The rallies even after having been elected where Trump sows discord and demonizes members of the other political party instead of trying to unite the country would be another example.

Thanks! This is really what I wanted to say!@bijouxbroussard

@bijouxbroussard see that I can understand but I don’t understand why you delete the comment Instead for explaining it.

Granted Trump is for the American people not the White race which is where I believe people get confused. Yes what he says about illegal immigrants is harsh.

As Hitler wanted to rid Germany of people who were legally german such as Jewish, political opponents, religious opponents such as johova and Mormons. And the mentally and physically disabled. All done through the means of genocide.

Basically calling Trump the same as Hitler is a straw man.
@TakingBackMidgaard Trump IS for the white race, that’s where people who aren’t paying attention get confused. The hate groups here certainly understand that;Trump has said on more than one occasion that he wants more European immigrants (in 2018 he even slipped up and said “more people from places like Norway” instead of “sh*thole countries“ like Haiti, El Salvador, African countries). He couldn’t have been any clearer.

He even told four members of his Congress, (women of color) three of whom are native born U.S. citizens, one a naturalized citizen, to “go back where you came from” when they disagreed with his policies. Then there were his “birther” attacks on the previous president, not to mention a history of racist comments and discrimination suits he’s been involved with as a private citizen.

Donald Trump is a racist. And while he can’t do the things Hitler did against those targets, todays Neo-Nazis recognize and support his rhetoric.
I don’t block people for disagreeing with me in general. But I have very strong feelings about white supremacists and their apologists, ergo I tend to block Trump supporters. 🤷🏽

@TakingBackMidgaard you just described Trump

@bijouxbroussard I’m not a trump supporter though? Not a White supremacist? So let’s stop being edgy.

Yes there are people in both parties acting like a bunch of idiots who have nothing better to do. This includes groups from Antifa, Proud Boys, BLM, White Supremacists, etc.

Both sides seem to promote violent rhetoric and don’t actually do anything beneficial. Both sides will gang up on members of the other side. They try to silence opposition. Dox one another.

A lot of this is fueled by misinformation or the inability to properly find a credible source or even know what a credible source is.

Everyday I see people flaming one another with bottom tier articles sloppily made by HuffPo, WashPo, CNN, FOX, Info Wars, PragerU, Vox,Vice, Daily Mail, the Wire, etc.

They never seem to look for a academic Journals, Data Tables, Government Domains, etc.

The worst are the people who look up what they’re talking about to share a “source” with you and clearly off the bat you can tell they didn’t read it.

The biggest issue with all of this though is that we are in an age of absolutism. People no longer think or even believe something. They “know” it.

When they are so concrete in their knowledge, if I disagree, they “know” I am wrong and must be silenced. That's where the shouting and name-calling begins.

Because the bottom line is, their knowledge is not built on reason, logic, or evidence, and they can't defend their position in a debate.

It’s under the guise that the louder, more abusive and obnoxious they become, the less sure they secretly are of their knowledge.

And to follow up you assumed I was a Trump Supporter and or White supremacist. However, you know nothing of me. Your assumptions make you the very thing you claim to hate in a sense.

My main point here is don’t use analogies from points in history that were so tragic and horrific. It disrespects all who have died. All because you have the “play the record backwards and you can hear the message.” Mentality.
@TakingBackMidgaard I actually didn’t assume anything about you personally. I said that I block White Supremacists and their apologists, and as a result, I block most Trump supporters. That’s pretty much a matter of record.
Yes, there are all kinds of groups on both sides. But right now, only some have the ear of the POTUS. I speak of the ones I personally consider a threat, and I imagine that’s true for most people. That’s why Trump claims that white supremacists are “not a big problem” in the U.S. They’re not a problem to him—they make up his base.

@bijouxbroussard The REAL racists are the left virtue signalling who think they have the moral code for the woy.
wexxxxcccc · M
@bijouxbroussard Trump had also had some of the heaviest support a president has even got from the Black people and hispanic communities. Racist huh? Just for Whites huh? Who is the real racist here?
@wexxxxcccc You. 8% of the black vote isn’t heavy support.

58% of white voters - 37% backed Clinton
8% of black voters - 88% voted for Clinton
29% of Hispanics - 65% supported Clinton

@bijouxbroussard Block Trump supporters? Including Blacks, Hispanics and women? People block Trump supporters because they are afraid of the truth. Going by what you wrote above perhaps you are the true racist. Oh and YOU DO block people for disagreeing , you are just too dishonest to admit it. You have very strong feelinfs about White supremists? Well good for you DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE? PURE arrogance and high and mightiness to think you represent the moral conscience of the world. Do you think it is just possible other peopke don't like white supremists too, even if yhey suppirt Trump? I have never heard so much putrid horseshit in my life. The left have actually been proven over and oVer to be the most racist party around both historically and currently and no one can argue that because of the evidence. SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR ARROGANT AND ELITIST ATTITUDES.
@wexxxxcccc 🥱Go on back to your Klan meeting. Trump’s a white supremacist and so are the folks who support him, as well as his stooges in communities of color.

@bijouxbroussard @wexxxxcccc

Wow that didn’t take long. This is exactly what I’m talking about... I’m curious what do you both do for a living? Don’t need explicit detail. Just curious.
@TakingBackMidgaard I did not invite him into the conversation. Nor did I comment on his posts. I’m a retiree, I was a schoolteacher and then an instructor for a large company.
TakingBackMidgaard · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussardWhat did you teach? Just general for a specific grade or something? What kind of company?
@TakingBackMidgaard You said no explicit detail.
TakingBackMidgaard · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard my bad I meant that in a whole other direction like I’m not trying to dox you or something
wexxxxcccc · M
@bijouxbroussard So you actually think anyone who voted for Trump is somehow stupid and thst gullible that it was hus "charm" that got them to vote? How arrogant. How vain. And how bias. You do exactly what you accuse Trump of doing. So you are saying that almost half of the voters are stupid hillbillies and you are right? Wow!
@wexxxxcccc Like I said, I block white supremacists and their apologists. So I’ll be blocking you shortly.
@bijouxbroussard There will always be parallels between Hitler and politicians because politics in the west relies on the same basic tactics to a point. Its always an "othering", slander and promises without thinking of fallout. Hillary started the deplorable junk and stereotyped, trump has a big part of his presidency based on stereotypes. The actions might differ but the underlying sentiments are still there.

Using Hitler for an example of everything just makes it a trope. Really,he's far more like mussolini in most cases.
@HorrorshowHijabi I answered the question asked regarding the parallels I observed. I am not presuming to speak for anyone else. 🤔
@bijouxbroussard No one asked you to speak for anyone else as I was talking directly to you.
@HorrorshowHijabi Okay, so what are the parallels between Trump and Mussolini ? Beyond the self-importance and arrogance ?
@bijouxbroussard He also doesn't actually stand with authority on his points bit relies on going along with other politicians and officials, basically making him a puppet above the usual presidential pandering. His rhetoric rarely goes beyond just that. When it does it's so blatantly illegal or immoral that he's called on it and he's incapable of covering with propaganda. Plus there's just the cheap point out that he's ugly and fat. Heh.
@HorrorshowHijabi That does indeed sound very similar.
Italy eventually woke up and got rid of Il Duce. We’ll see how things play out here. 🤔
@bijouxbroussard well at the most he has 8 years. Just need someone competent to run against or there won't be a choice.
