@Elandra77 Ovechkin is a badass, in my opinion better than Crosby, but he's really the only thing the Caps have. The Penguins have Malkin, Matt Murray, Kessel, Letang, etc. The Capitals have Ovechkin, but for fuck's sake, their goalie is Braden Holtby, who is famous as the chump that got his ass beat by Ray Emery.
I am not discounting Alex. And yes, that is all they have. Really a shame as that series couold have been better. It was billed as being better. The Pens may be too overloaded to meet salary caps. That is the new issue, With maybe Fleury going. An idea that is not fan popular.
Fleury is saying he will take a cut- or leave. It brings up the whole Barrasso/Pieterangelo argument again. 20 years after. I think the goalie may be as you say. Malkin is great. Orpik a lot were upset about Pitts. was never famous for hitters. A reason why Lemieux was banged up so often.

Pieterangelo. The name reminds me now of the St. Louis Blues. And I am goddamned happy they did not win. The Sharks beat them, and that made me like San Jose a LOT more.
I really never liked Marc Andre Fleury, to tell you the truth, he always seemed overrated to me. The Pittsburgh player who I think is the most beast is still Evgeni Malkin, and I wish they would have kept Brooks Orpik, because god damn that guy could hit.

My comment about Barrasso got me thinking of the Barrasso/Don Beaupre games. And how Pitts. lost most of them. Or so it seems in memory. I think the Caps had a goalie, Ed someone- that Pitts got a few years later.
Yes, San Jose deserved to be there in the end. it was a great series. But the Pens had an overload of talent -and you ng players that were playing as if there was no tomorrow.
I liked most of San Jose's team this year, especially Pavelski. Not so crazy about Tommy Wingels or Logan Couture though. Never did like them. But I love Brent Burns. He's a hell of a defenseman.

YES---My pick was correct! They just were perfect-almost- at the right time. And to think. Crosby WAS NOT voted to the All Star team. Hope Alex had a nice time watching it all on TV.
