I Have a Question

Why do people catfish other people? I mean, I get putting maybe a famous cartoon character or some kind of art piece or something up as your profile pic... but using a celeb or someone else that is real AND isn't you and saying it's you?!! Just why? I'm not ashamed to show my face, so I don't get it. >.<

My guess is that some are very insecure about themselves, and it's a way for them to get esteem. Or maybe they feel that they aren't good enough for their lovers...? Nonetheless, it's not the right thing to do. If anything, I appreciate a person not being scared to show me their flaws. If everyone was perfect, it would be boring. You'll have to tell them at some point anyways, and it just causes the person to feel betrayed and heartbroken. You could've just told the truth, and spare that.
