I Have a Question

Is it illegal to give away food when youre on foodstamps? I get foodstamps cause im out of work but the problem is i get too much of them, i always feel like i need to spend them or theyre going to wonder why i dont use it, sometimes i'll buy drinks with it like coffee or tea just to use it up but even that can pile up, sometimes when i accumulate too much food, i live in an apt building, i will take it down to the lobby and leave it on the table for my neighbors to grab, yesterday when i got back from church i was telling one of my neighbors about it and he said it was illegal to do that when youre on foodstamps, I cant eat them all and if i were to tell foodstamps im getting too many they might cut me off. im only 4ft5 so im not a big eater. so what do i do when i get too many foodstamps? any suggestions? im not selling them and im not selling the food either. what are ways to cut back? i cant find work so thats not an option.

It is not illegal to GIVE food. It is Illegal to sell them. So idk who is telling you its illegal to give your food to others. Smh. Only other thing I can suggest is to by non perishables. Or if you want to plant yourself a garden you can by seeds on food stamps!! I wouldn't announce to your neighbors or anyone else that you get too much foodstamps and thats why you are giving your food away. Keep it to yourself and just do good deeds. People are pretty judgemental about that crap.
