Why do people feel the need to respond to "black lives matter" with "all lives matter!"

What aren't you getting here? It's not about exclusion. It's about bringing attention to a particular group that is being mistreated.

I see your point Ytrewq101 but I'm white, British, male and I'm doing OK for myself. I couldn't be more privileged as far as the birth lottery goes... but I feel so much more empathy for the black community than my 'own' people in this matter. They are clearly being wronged on a daily basis and that shitty treatment is completely the fault of the people who built the world that now rewards us white folk just for being alive and punishes black people just for being who they are.
