I don't think I could ever, in good conscious, do it. No matter how disillusioned I get with the country. I'd fly the flag upside down to signify peril before I'd burn it.
I can relate to the feeling. Also I'd experience/interpret that as hating the country as a whole. I could get disillusioned with the government, with the average citizen mentality - but I could never hate this country, its territory, its history, its art, its culture, its biodiversity, its uniqueness.
Exactly. The protests with burning flags only have meaning in context. Therefore they're meaningless. Context is unavailable for war mongering nations.
