So the universe is apparently older than previously thought...

I can imagine many astronomers having a crisis over this new-found knowledge, with their careers built around the original notion that things are only x billions of years old. I don't think it's a bad thing, really. Just gives us something new to study. Science must march on! Unless it is restrained by religious beliefs, that is. In which case, religion becomes the enemy. Pew pew!

@SpaceJesus I think it only pushed out the age of the universe by 20 million years which isnt an awful lot in the scheme of things. I dont think it is old as the Hubbles Law which suggests 14.5 billion as opposed to 13.8. I am nerding out here lol

@TheDeathOfOzymandiaz Hahaha! Nothing wrong with nerding out. And we just discovered that with the new telescope. Imagine what we will discover with further advancements. Everything we know is liable to be turned on it's head. Ah, the further on we go, the less we know. That age-old saying plays true
