A little bit. I ran the operations of several systems at a large financial institution. Some of which were old, mainframe based, and were coded with a mm/dd/yy date field throughout. We ran some ETE tests, and didn't have any issues, but you're always a little nervous when it's live. It was a good thing that Y2K was a non-event, because the contingency plans were terrible.
@BizSuitStacy That’s an understandable worry for sure…
No.
I work in the hi-tech field and we made good money converting systems to be y2k compatible.

no...but i remember people panicking if they were on a plane at the stroke of midnight and the bar would manually write down orders because they thought the register would crash...

@beermeplease So did you give her your number?

Playing with fire aren’t you buddy? Lol
@Unefilletrescurieuse it was a drunken/stoned fest and it probably shouldn't have happened. the strange part is she wasn't that intoxicated so that's what makes it strange she was trying to get a hold of me the next day....i guess i was gentleman enough for her to be interested. i did feel guilty though.

Not at all. I was working retail when the year 2000 rolled around. And the rumors anything that was computerized would shut down. Nothing happened and I was still employed 😁

@Unefilletrescurieuse Exactly, don't always believe the rumors 😁
@SW-User but not knowing wasn’t a rumor…
SW-User
@Unefilletrescurieuse that is true

No. I was too busy working to worry about stuff I could do nothing about.
@bowman81 ok ✅ fair enough…
