Do you have any recurring dreams?
After I quit my last proper job in 2013 I've had nightmares about being forced back to that job.
The job itself wasn't the reason I quit, but a coworker (and distant relative) who harrassed me every chance she got. She's the reason I ended up in the psych ward the first time, and shattered my mental health.
Anyway, I've dreamt about being back at work atleast once or twice a week since.
A month or so ago my dream self realized I never got paid for it, but I didn't dare speak up.
However, last night when having that dream yet again, I not only demanded the pay I was owed, I even let the coworkers know I would NEVER come back to work. I was done, and their lack of personel wasn't my problem.
I think I'm finally ready to start standing up for myself irl, and it feels scary, but great.
