Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert L. Heinlein. I was 17 years old when I read it, and it had a major impact on my young mind. I went on to read every book Heinlein had ever written, and then became a HUGE science fiction fan. From there, I branched out to science-fantasy, and then to straight fantasy.
