What did you learn from your first heartbreak?

hunkalove · 61-69, M
Never trust anyone ever again.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@hunkalove Reminds me of when Homer Simpson tells Lisa "I hope this has taught you a valuable lesson. Never love anyone." And Lisa asks "Not even you, dad?" to which Homer replies "ESPECIALLY me."

When I was 8 years old our farm got scammed by a relative and we had to move away from it & our good friends and neighbors…we were heartbroken at the loss of friends, community & lifestyle….I learned to never take things for granted and that we never truly own anything, it can be taken away from us at any time.
That nothing lasts forever…
And that people can love each other deeply and still not be meant to be together.

@CookieCrumbs don't know about that. Met my wife when I was 15 married her 4 year later. Almost 54 years ago.
@Baremine
That’s because you met the one that’s right for you.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@CookieCrumbs yes and she was an answer to my prayer even though God's plan was different than the one I asked for. His was far better.

Don't take her back if he loses interest in her....and you can survive it and start a relationship with someone else.

@OfflineFriend It's a joke. I'm pretending as if my first heartbreak was leaving my country of birth.

A lot and not so much about relationships but I learned a lot about me. I cried so much and hurt so badly that I actually think I cried a lot of things from my childhood. It was just another “this is why you don’t close to people” lesson.

That people can create the most credible lies to walk away and sugarcoat things.
That a relationship doesn't have to last forever to be meaningful while it does.
Next time someone says they love you on ep or sw don't take them seriously 😂

That there are better fish in the sea than have ever been caught.
To avoid damaged men who hate women. On some level they’re always seeking revenge. 🙁
@bijouxbroussard vise versa
@vic7ory Except that I was replying for myself, and I don’t date women. 🤷🏽‍♀️
@bijouxbroussard I was too 👻
ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F

Don't take her back, four times.
Human1000 · M
When she acts like she doesn’t love you, she doesn’t.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@Human1000 love comes and goes and comes and goes but marriage is about commitment. In the Greek there are 7 words that translate into the English word love. So how do we really know what love is? Most of what is called love nowadays is lust and it does rather quickly with people getting hurt deeply.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Not to invest myself so much into a person.
