She's sweet, and I like her, but...

I worry that I'll end up letting her down in the end. It happens frequently enoughalready, and I like her too much to want to inflict that upon her.

This isn't going anywhere, I'm just feeling entirely useless.

Sounds like you need work on your self-esteem. That's like telling yourself you're not good enough. If it happens frequently, as you mentioned, there's a problem with feeling sorry for yourself, and too much negativity. You've cut the possibility of a real relationship short, before it even has a chance to get off the ground. So you're right. It isn't [i]going[/i] anywhere, because you won't let it. If you really like this girl, work on yourself, but this "like her too much to inflict that upon her" is phony baloney. If you really liked her, you wouldn't use yourself as an excuse to end it before it even starts. You've already sabotaged it. Don't do this to this girl. Work on yourself, get it together, and [i]then[/i] you'll be better prepared. But take the time you need to get to where you need to be. Honest with yourself AND her.
