Does anyone know why some messages go to your inbox and others go to the "request" folder? [I Blah]

If you know please tell me?

SW admins - it is the most annoying thing about this website. because I get zero notifications. I have to literally go to my mail icon and click "requests".

see..unlike most people.....I dont get mail notifications often so theres never really a reason for me to click my mailbox... hence I accidentally ignore people.

and responding to them like 3 months later kinda sucks. for both of us.

No idea. I鈥檝e checked my settings. I鈥檝e read the FAQ about private messages. I鈥檝e found nothing that addresses this.
I run into the same issue and feel guilt for ignoring people.

It's strange. Once you've messaged someone and they respond, it's not supposed to go in there. But if you archive a convo for whatever reason and then the person messages you, it can be in there. Sometimes when someone I've never talked to messages me it goes there; other times it's in my regula mailbox. I can't figure it out. 馃ぃ馃ぃ

@SW-User I think the intent is admirable because they're trying to avoid stalking. I just don't see how this helps. If I message you twice and you don't respond, then I'm blocked from trying any more, and can't send pics. If you did respond and I suddenly got out of line, you could block me and that's the end of it. But messages are in there people don't know about, sometimes from people they would want to talk to. Do not only does it not really do anything to prevent harassment that I can see, but it could serve as an impediment to some people connecting.

I think it does that if you've never interacted with that person before. That way you're not getting crazy/dirty messages...unless you want them

I don't, and have no restrictions in my settings on who can send messages to my inbox...except for logged out users viewing my profile.

There have been a few times for me also, when I'd liked to have seen a message in that "Requests" folder sooner. I rarely check it, unless someone here mentions it.
