I always wished I was one of those people who can sleep forever and have trouble waking up 😴

What I wouldn't give to need 5 alarms. 😩

I always wake up after 5-6 hours, and I'm the type of person who needs 8 hours of sleep every night. I'm always tired but somehow, for me, tiredness does not equate to sleepiness. I sometimes just lie in bed with closed eyes for an hour in the middle of the day to try to get some sort of rest, but I don't fall asleep. In the morning, I wake up from the smallest sound, and the second that I do, my body is ready to run a marathon, brain ready to solve complex equations, I experience absolutely no transition between sleep and wakeness; falling back asleep is impossible. I've tried exercising a ton, but it makes no difference. I can just keep going and going until I start seeing double.

To think that some people just effortlessly sleep... 🥲

Yep, I feel you! Last night I went to bed at 9pm, I was up from midnight to 2am, then up for a vape at 3am, 4am and started work at 5am 🤣

@InfoTunaBotTheReturn You've got to have a schedule so that your mind and body knows when to rest and when to wake up. Trust me, it's better to go to bed later if you normally do so, if you want to sleep through the night. 😅

Chronic stress could be one cause... Personally, I started taking magnesium Biglycinate to fill a gap and now get even deeper sleep.
It's tough. I generally like my dreams so I only wake up in a sweat once or twice a year if that.

I think very relaxing things before bed and sleep to pleasentness of my imagination. I imagine games or movies or anime. Very nice.

@twistedrope I have also thought that I might be low on magnesium, funny enough. I'm gonna ask my doctor about it soon actually. I always fall asleep listening to some cozy TV show, and that works like a charm. I just can't fall back asleep after waking up 6 or so hours later. 😅
Yes I'm that second type. I can fall asleep easily then wake up then fall asleep again. And again.

My sister has your nervous system. I think it has a lot with genes and how you handle your day to day. She falls asleep with crime videos something has to whisper to her ear to fall asleep.
Because her mind is so busy all the time.

I on the other hand, need total silence and darkness and I'm good.

@greensnacks It's funny because I actually really like when it's completely silent and dark, but my mind is overactive yes. I think my nervous system is why I used to drink: I remember thinking that unlike people who drink when they're depressed for example, I had no reason behind it ~ since I quit over 9 months ago, my nervous system has been crazy. I just didn't recall what sobriety was like before I tried it. 😅
