Sounds like cartilage or soft tissue injury

My left knee was always strange. There was never anything wrong with it. It was strong, but it always made a "skreeek" sound going down hills like that and would make a "squish crackle" sound using stairs. Left knee was also shaped differently than right knee.

@Magicianzini Yes that's it the squish crackle

@separatetheheart I know mine hurt because I don’t have much left of my meniscus in either knee and I have psoriatic arthritis so you might want to get them checked by an orthopedic specialist. Just a thought.

Recently came down a very dangerously steep mountain. It was hurting for days.

Mine use to, but after I retired and started resting it. Slowly it stopped bothering me. Now I can walk down inclines and walk down stairs like a normal person.

@Musicman That's a good thing!
