I def believe that boys raised by loving men are taught to be men

@AthrillatheHunt Yess absolutely, that's literally what I said when I showed this to my friend as well; good people do teach how to be men, but of course there are also a lot of crappy parents out there who don't, so while it's an excellent way to sum up part of a larger problem, I don't hope it becomes a mantra that people repeat mindlessly.

I was not fully indoctrinated into this mindset, but I can definitely say she's spot on about the pressures I had experienced while growing up. There's very little focus about how to be a good person and a lot of focus on what shouldn't be done because those are girl things. We're told what not to do, left to figure out what we should do on our own, and then belittled and punished if we figure out the wrong lessons. I generally get along better with women than other men just because of how toxic "manliness" can be.
