Each of the three men touching different parts of the elephant trying to get an idea of what an elephant is.
One man touches one of the elephant's tail, thinking that an elephant is like a rope.
The second man touches one of the elephant's legs and thinks that an elephant is big, tall and round, like the trunk of a tree.
And the third man touches the elephants trunk, thinking that an elephant is long and flexible, like a snake.
