What would make you the most willing to give a homeless person some money if asked?

If it seemed like they weren't gonna use it for "other stuff"

If they tried to sell something first like chips or drinks and other small stuff

If it looks like they have a kid with them

I always give because that could be "you"

I used to give to the homeless, but then some anxious part of me started wondering, “what if this person uses the money that I give them to get high and then overdoses?” I would have not only contributed to a person’s addiction, but also to their death. I can’t shake that thought for some reason. I just hope that they find their way

@Sorceress Also they stick around and might break into your house and steal things. Take your dog to sell, anything in your yard.

The only homeless I see in this neighborhood are messed up on drugs and booze and I don't think giving them money is helping them. I do put food out on the back steps of this apartment building. A lot of the tenants do that.

@hunkalove Do you have a rat problem there? Here we have all kinds of critters, coyotes, racoons, skunks, rats, mice, crows and tons of other birds. They would eat that food if left out. Maybe it is different where you live.

I never have cash on me so there is nothing to give.

Different situations give me different vibes, and vibes are what I base decisions like this on.

i don't give to people who ask because of scammers but sometimes to some who don't..
