Poll - Total Votes: 5
Try to be nice and let them ride
Sorry can't do that
Let them ask if anybody else might have change to help out
Just this once
I understand but i have bills to pay
Try waiting for the next bus
Shrug your shoulder like i don't know

Public bus culture and their ways takes some getting use to. One time I had to take a bus in a new town (first and last time). On the way off the bus driver grabbed me by the arm demanding I pay a quarter. It freaked me out I had no idea I owed a quarter and this guy had me by my arm...crap I didn't have any more change. Cool someone on the bus pony'd up a quarter for me.

I would use my fire extinguisher to smash open the glass money box, then I would take out the exact change and give it to the person who was short of change after taking enough out of the money box for lunch money for myself which would include an extra-large coffee since the bus company was buying, then I'd have the person insert the correct change into the smashed money box to make it all legal at which point I'd call the police to report a robbery by an unknown assailant who commandeered my bus but then fled the scene on foot.
bus drivers here don't do a thing if someone hops on without paying. they rely on transit police

Coming up short in your till might cost you your job plus others on the bus might think they could do that too

I wouldn't give a shit. Sometimes people need help and the taxes are paying for most of the bus service anyways.

If I can truly tell you are not bullshiting me. I'll let you on for free. But with the modern cameras, microphones and cashless bullshit going on these days. Soon there will be no bus drivers.

Used to be here in Denver if you didn't have the money bus drivers were supposed to let you ride for free but I don't think that's true anymore. That was back when politicians at least pretended they care about anything but themselves.
