I wouldn't go in nor have any intention. Those things always backfire because nothing good is free, it always lands you on a sell page where there's fine print. Plus why would people want to be mean to others for stupid baseball cards. If someone did that to me in a metaphorical Stephen king universe, I'd make sure they couldn't enjoy whatever they got.

There could be something you really need. Or a family member. Medication or whatever.
Plus the pranks never seem as bad as to offset what we need. I'm not saying you would go but maybe you haven't been low and dark enough to consider it. Which is a great thing.

Hey I never said that when it comes to family you shouldn't do whatever to protect them. I'm not against morally grey stuff and this isn't making a judgement, of course anyone would. I think you think I would be against trying to be for your family but in the fictional universe it wouldn't work like that at all.

First off it's Stephen King, have you ever read his novels? It's never harmless.

See you think that those pranks would never come back to harm you well in the book universe you're banking a lot on an entity that you made a deal with who isn't even human and does not have the same set of rules as you first off.

Secondly gifts can be revoked at any time, would the medication you are granted for your family be for life?

Cos if it's not for life then you have to keep pulling really mean pranks on people or the entity might ask you to go further.

It gets you into debt with something that isn't even human and doesn't even understand you, it's making a deal cos it sees things it can feed on.

I mean think about it for a second, why specfically pranks as payment. Pranks can be mean and they can cause drama, fighting. If pranks are the payment, this entity feeds off of reactions. What kind of thing does that is like an emotional vampire and those are toxic.

An entity that feeds like that isn't going to let you go sorry. That's the fact of energy transfer.

maybe you haven't been low and dark enough to consider it. Which is a great thing.

I have been low plenty of times, that's how I know nothing good is free. Honestly with survival I can't really shake my finger at nobody though. I'm not judging but the point of hustling is to sell what a person needs but it can cost you if it's the wrong person. The point of hustling is to make the person trust and then bait and switch etc.

Plus the pranks never seem as bad as to offset

It's a Stephen King movie and he's a horror author. In a horror book the pranks are never gonna be as advertised

Desperation the novel has some very disturbing literary descriptions of dead kids with a demonic sheriff lol, that's not just like tee hee moments.

It is a good novel though, one of my favorites by him. Takes awhile to get into but read it for 8 hours once

Yes they would.

No, I wouldn't take part, but I'm awful so I'd lurk in the shadows and watch from my perch like the gargoyle I am. 🤷🏾If it got too messed up, I'd probably wander away for a while.

I think I would definitely go in. Without the intention of participating because I'm a good person and that would be wrong.
But then the dude would show me something that I really want or need.
If it's something I want, I'd probably walk, but if I need it badly or someone I love needs it, yeah. Someone is getting mean pranked here.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
I would never join in on something mean but I’ve seen several people here that I know would love something like that scenario

Oh!!
I was a little thrown off by that giant M next to your name.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, M
@CurrentName it’s a long story, but changing to M was for a good cause

@jshm2 Ah but that's not an option.
Would you go all the way?
Lostpoet · M
Brah, i think this has already been happening in my life and it wasnt funny, so no i would not go in.

@Lostpoet
That's something id love to hear
Ontheroad · M
A mean prank, no, absolutely no. A fun, harmless prank, sure.
CurrentName · 51-55, M
@Ontheroad Ahhhh very good!
I've been expecting this one my friend.
Thing is that the pranks seem harmless to the prankster but have a hidden mean spirit behind felt by the pranked.
Like knocking on someone's door and running not knowing the person is elderly and can't really move
So no one thinks they are doing any harm until later.
Good thinking tho.
Ontheroad · M
@CurrentName so, a "gotcha" is involved... clever move there😉
CurrentName · 51-55, M
@Ontheroad I know!!! ☺

Sadly I think I go in unsuspectingly. I would never intentionally cause hurt or harm to another person but I suspect I manage to without trying sometimes.

I think most people would go in with the same thinking.
But see the shop keeper is smart and knows what to show you that would make you think twice.
Especially anything dealing with pain.
I did abuse my body when I was younger, doing a lot of extreme physical things for which I'm paying now with pain.
I'm sure that if he were to take away the pain I'd probably say yes.
