Did anyone else's parents make them watch beyond scared straight growing up?

My mom used to make my brother and I watch that. I can't remember if it was jenny jones or sally jessy rapheael but there were those drill sergeants. They scared me.

I watched the “Scared Straight” segment on Saturday Night Live. That was based on an actual national TV show with that name? I thought it was just based on like local police programs or something.

No. We watched Punky Brewster, Roseanne and then topped it off with Unsolved Mysteries.

Robert Stack was scarier than prisoners making kids cry.
