What does someone do with grits?

I went to the food pantry because I more than qualify and in the box I got I received two large packages of grits. No idea how to cook them or what to do with them. I've heard of shrimp and grits but I don't like shrimp.

I make porridge with them. Cook them in half water and half milk, add some salt. More liquidy than the way grits are usually served. It’s good for breakfast in the winter.
