I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I can try to buy a house if a mortgage would be cheaper than rent?

I was thinking about buying one of those mobile homes. I wonder if a mortgage is cheaper than renting would be. I'd be a first time home buyer so I think theres programs for that.

There's a good bit to consider. But assuming you could get something you could afford monthly payments on then you'd have something that you could sale if you needed to and get a return. But then it's a headache having to deal with all your own repairs or even to find someone to do those things. Still I think if you can withstand it then it's a great way to make yourself financially better in the long run.

You might want to look into it.
My son was able to get a house on a first time buyer program.

Better and cheaper to be an owner instead of a loaner. My mortgage was cheaper then the rent all the appartments were charging.
I have since paid off my house.

Keep in mind all the stuff you have to be responsible for. The furnace in the building where I live had to be replaced and cost $50,000.

mobilehomes are bad as they can charge oyu alot for maintenence also har dot sell and oyu cant get a mortgage for a mobilehome,id buy house in a cheap ara instead
Good thought .. but make it an actual house, not a mobile home. The reason? Because a home will be a good investment as it's an appreciating asset. Mobile homes only depreciate in value.

It usually is cheaper to buy than rent. Check into it.
