Take a deep breath, hold it then swallow it 😅

Procrastablogger · 26-30, M
The hiccup is caused by your diaphragm ( that long band of muscle that assists in the equal and adequate rise and fall of the chest during breathing)

That being said nerves are involved. Hiccups are like a bad line of code sending a signal to your brain to create spasms.

To do a hard reset kinda like turning off your router and turning it back on again.

This usually works.

Inhale a very deep breath hold it as long as you can.

Then continually try to inhale small breaths keeping your lungs inflated the entire time try to force as much air into your body as possible.

Hold as long as your body will let you. And repeat.

Keeping the lungs inflated keeps the diaphragm in that position.. sorta resets it. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

My wife leans over and drinks water upside down. It works every time for her.

I hold my breath as long as I can then take a drink of water before I exhale. It works maybe 70 percent of the time 🫤
When it happens to me, I hold as much breath as I can manage, then I swallow...then it's gone!☺

When I was a kid I got rid of them by putting a spoon of sugar in my mouth and then slowly drinking a glass of water filtered through the sugar.

Stretch my neck while taking deep breaths. It makes me look like ET but that's beside the point.
