There is no way Nintendo Switch Units passes PS2

My only friend in this town doesn't have one. My family members I know doesn't have one.

The only one is my little brother has a Nintendo switch.

I remember back in my day where I used to have lots of friends who owns a PS2 and I use to own one.

Nintendo, you're cool but STFU.

It depends on the numbers it's currently at. Once switch 2 launches. Nintendo will be able to reduce the cost of previous consoles. Making them even more accessible for poorer nations to get their hands on one. Many nations such as Brazil, and basically most Southern American countries. Actually only purchase their consoles after the newer generation comes out. So there will be an overall spike in sales throughout the years when this occurs.

When we look at projections, it's likely that as long as they reduce cost. It will definitely reach those numbers. It becomes a choice at that point for Nintendo. Would they like to reduce cost, make it more accessible and gain a larger player base. While taking a loss on some of the returns from those console sales. But earning them back through the game sales on their market place? Or would they rather organically have the systems attempt to outsell the PS2?

If they attempt the organic route, it's extremely unlikely that it will surpass the PS2 when you could just save a little bit more and get a Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon. People would just bypass the switch altogether...

It boils down to what Nintendo's method will be going forward. If they slash all the prices by half once the Switch 2 is available for launch. They will most likely beat the PS2 record and dethrone it. If they refuse to do so, the original switch will most likely completely stagnate. And wherever its sale points are currently at, is where it will remain.

Not that it really even matters but the Switch has the potential to outsell the PS2 although it probably wont, especially with the next console having been announced.
Out of all of the current consoles, the Switch is the highest selling. Just because you don't have one or don't know many people who do, doesn't mean it isn't extremely popular.
That's why their new console is just the Switch 2.
So Nintendo really doesn't need to STFU considering how well they're doing.

@Redstar only 139 million units is not close to 160.

@FreestyleArt Only? That's still more than almost any other console in existence (PS2 and DS are the only ones to beat that). And it's 146 million.
