I've never felt so old in my entire life.

I was at the doctors recently and in the waiting room there was an old couple. Her husband went back to be seen and she asked me if I had support at home. No, I live alone. Never felt so old in my entire life. This couple was probably in their 80s and I was viewed as one of them. Oh my.

My elderly dad had a thing he liked to do to make him laugh at himself - in waiting rooms where little kids were he'd start up a conversation with one of them and when the time was right he'd ask this of the little boy or girl "I'm really old aren't I?" and he'd usually get this honest, guileless response - "You sure are!".
