To contextualise my post. Im currently in Benidorm for a short holiday. I first came here in 2010 with an old pal who i sadly have drifted away from. We had a fantastic time here and was our first lads holiday

Yes. My hometown. It's beautiful, but it makes me very sad.

@AlchemyFox aw why?
AlchemyFox · 36-40, F
@Moon3624 I grew up here believing I had family, friends and a place in the community. All that is gone now and the land is covered in houses, people crammed in to be close to the beach. I'll never have a place with these people.
Absolutely. Those experiences can be very bittersweet.

Relate to this. Yes.
It really depends on what they've done with the place since then. For example, I can't go back to my childhood home or the neighborhood around it, because it is now associated with the memory of a housing development my dad partnered with another guy to build, that was supposed to secure our future, but his partner skimped on hiring somebody to pave the road, and it peeled. We ended up paying for that, not the partner.
