Discovering you have magical powers

Imagine your a kid around 10-11 years old just living life, then one day you start to notice some weird stuff happening around you like making things levitate or making dinner turn into a yummy desert once everyone else leaves the table because the dinner is something gross. until one day someone notices the things you can do and they tell you your a witch or wizard because what you were doing was magic and not an overactive imagination. Would you choose to be a witch or wizard or completely disregard your powers and be a normal person.

I don't have any "magic powers" per-se, but I have read many things about extraordinary human abilities, mainly those of psychic powers like telekinesis, extrasensory perception and things like that.

Perhaps it is like you see in movies where, when you use your magic, it also affects something else. So say you take a bunch of rocks and turn them into Gold, and that same amount is deducted from Elon's bank account without you knowing, and that squash you turned into a yummy dessert, became squash at someone else's house.

@MisterBander true I didn't think of that. I thought about how I would feel if I discovered when I was a kid that I could do magic and it would make life fun and complicated
