Video unavailable. You do realize the school is a charter school, don't you? Charter schools can set their own dress codes, behavior standards, etc. They are not subject to the jurisdiction of the local public school district. Funny how the right-wing media never mentions that it's a charter school.

@ElwoodBlues weren't conservatives the ones complaints in the first place if people dressed differently, dudes had long hair or people dyed their hair?
@basilfawlty89 Indeed they were. But conservatives have been obscuring the fact that the school in question is a "charter school." It's a thing in the US where someone can open an independently managed school that meets certain criteria, and receive public money for the public school students who enroll at the charter school. Cons are trying to blame the whole thing on the public school district, and that's a lie of omission.
@ElwoodBlues The Republicans are trying to end public education and will use absolutely anything to belittle the.public school system.

What is the latest performative right wing outrage?
@Bumbles You compare the idea that "Black Lives Matter" to Nazism ? That’s very interesting, indeed. 😞

@bijouxbroussard I don’t think they are remotely similar. My point is that political messaging should not be worn by kids in public school as you can’t choose which messages are allowed. That’s “content discrimination” and would be illegal.
@Bumbles Whew, that I can appreciate. Fair enough.
"Ignorant, censorious activism" is the reality in many Southern schools due to the boogeyman they call "Critical Race Theory". And they’re not censoring opinions, they’re banning the teaching of historical fact. Seriously, this is a matter of record. And none of them are "liberals", btw.

It's a charter school you nitwit. Which means it is a private school receiving welfare ( ahem) school tax dollars to fund it. Which means they, like all private schools, have a strict dress code.

Nice try though. Charter schools are the darlings of conservatives.
