Have lived in ALL of them. NY had nice, forthright people. N. California was gorgeous.

I left TX and FL before they swung rightwing.

I would choose Maui of Hawai'i.

@Neoerectus Lahaina or the north side ?
Neoerectus · M
@AthrillatheHunt Lived Wailuku area. Much less touristy and very pleasant. Lahaina was fun though. Had a great cafe/coffee shop. Wailuku had a small, but nice downtown area.

@Neoerectus Kaanapali beach is gorgeous .surfed there and the harbor entrance in Lahaina .

@AthrillatheHunt Beaches for all occasions. I never made it to Kaua'i, but Maui beaches I liked better than any I visited on the islands of O'ahu or Hawai'i. I never checked any out any on Moloka'i or Lana'i. Kahoholawei I visited as part of my job, but is, of course, mostly off limits to non-Hawaiians.

@Neoerectus never been to Molokai or lanai but I’ve surfed Oahu Maui Kauai and big island .
Hawaii is paradise . I love dry weather in west side of big island but I’m a city boy and actually like Waikiki too .

@Neoerectus Molokai ? Really ? The isolation wouldn’t be a problem ?
Neoerectus · M
@AthrillatheHunt I inserterted the Molokai coffee thing.. I meant Hawaii in general. I would be less welcome on Moloka'i I suspect, except as a visitor.

@Neoerectus did you live there for “punch a haole day”. It’s this month I believe .
Neoerectus · M
@AthrillatheHunt Managed to avoid that.. lol

Knew nice folks who felt unwelcome. I think most are welcoming, but..
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Neoerectus there’s a palpable animosity in the smaller towns and communities for sure .
Neoerectus · M
@AthrillatheHunt Luckily, vast majority were kind when I was there, but I did get the ole stinkeye on occasion.

@Neoerectus the true aloha spirit still exists for sure .
Just don’t touch the sea turtles. Lol

Irony is I agree their land was stolen illegally. I knew of some underground folks slowly but surely building an international case. Got to have some great conversations with them.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Neoerectus to live on ancestral land is a privilege most in this world don’t have .

@AthrillatheHunt True. They have a rep recognized by the UN years ago. Few realize.
