I pickled this up from a gem expo the other day


It's called Shattuckite. I had hever heard of it beforehand but it looked cool so I snatched it up. It's apparently a copper silicate and it's fibrous so if you touch it it'll get smooshed.

I think I have something similar if not the same mineral in my collection.
@Starcrossed That's really cool. It apparently is very similar to another mineral called Chrysocolla. That blue was so vivid I had to get it haha.

@Starcrossed OH wow that's gorgeous! Much bigger than mine xD Yeah they grow in that botryoidal pattern that definitely could be the same thing. Is that quartz it's growing out of?

@MrBlueGuy pretty sure the white part is quartz, yeah.
This was a birthday present like a decade and a half ago. One of my first 'fancy' pieces.
@Starcrossed This is my only fancy piece xD I'm going to be on the lookout for more though!
