This lil rapper from my hood got killed

Trips me out because I was just talking about him recently, saying he's wild for the shit he's been saying & having the gang flags all over his video while he says it.

From that alone I was like "Damn this foo ain't gonna last long, he's tryna start wars"
& Sure enough he just got hit with multiple bullets in a targeted hit. He's dead now.

I literally just called it a couple weeks ago. MF's tryna represent the streets & forget what comes with it 🤦 I don't really feel bad I just think it's wild. Coming from that life I understand it too well. The kid was barely 19.

Nobody would like the song but I'll include it anyway 🤷

It’s common amongst teenagers to believe you’re invincible. You see bad things happening all the time, but you never think it’s going to be you.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Reject I was literally just saying that exact same thing to someone else. I thought I was invincible before but when you think that way it catches up to you
Reject · 26-30, M
@ChiefJustWalks It really does. To be fair our brains aren’t fully developed at that age and the part responsible for understanding consequences (the prefrontal cortex) doesn’t develop until our 20s.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Reject yeah it's pretty messed up it would take that long. Could keep youngsters outta so much bs if they could think ahead
white boy dropping the N-bomb.

yeah. that was never going to end well.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout lmfao dude I constantly quote his "traffic traffic, looking for my chapstick" line 🤣
@ChiefJustWalks i cant beleive you guys are having a kill whitey party without me 🤨
Chickie · F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout everybody wants to be black because they think it's cool but they don't want our problems. Not sorry that he died.
SW-User
Let me give it a one time lol
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User native rappers? I don't think I really know any native rappers tbh 😮 Where you from?
SW-User
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User Oh yeah I forgot you said you live in New Mexico! I've only been there once & it was actually in the 505 area. I saw way more natives out there than I do here in AZ so now it makes sense why native rappers would be poppin' there

Doesn't help that the media, at least for a while, glorified street gang life. Kids really are influenced by what they see in media.

Some people think they are ready to die or maybe go to prison for what they believe in but they forget that once you are dead or incarcerated, you are useless to whatever lifestyle or movement you are trying to perpetuate.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@CestManan very true. I blame the media for making kids think it's cool too. I see so many young people end up dead over gang shit & the sad thing is a lot of them were never real gang members. They just woke up one day & gave themselves a title. Heard a song & decided that's what they want too. I'd say thats what 85% of rap is too, fake gang members who simply glorify the life.

This guy was a real gang member even though he looks goofy. I also notice that his death was not reported in any media at all. Funny how the fake shit gets more attention than the real shit

Too many musicians out there are fake. When we were young though we didn't know any better.
Not until somewhere between ages 18 and 22 does reality jack slap us into the ways of the real world.

I have never had any affiliations with gangs. I wonder though, for people that did, how do they even escape that life? Once we adapt to a certain lifestyle, it can be very hard to escape.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@CestManan the only way you escape is by running. You gotta separate yourself & when you do, your gang will want you dead so you spend the rest of your life running from that life even though you already left.
That's why people get stuck in it
SatanBurger · 36-40, FVIP
I can understand people don't generally choose their childhood and I also equally understand that parents often raise children in gangs (that's specifically called something but I forgot,) so they're indoctrinated to a certain extent, I just never saw the appeal though. Especially if you're "out" of the hood like the rapper you're talking about, why you would want to mimic it all the time.

I don't get the appeal of wafting in the hot sun to go rob someone for the gang, only to give your paycheck to them. Get fast money but then lose it all over again while nothing is ever really yours. Much like how the office drone is a slave to bureaucracy, they're slaves to their gang leaders and for what? A grave and maybe your friends "might" remember you for like a year or so until they forget. Kind of fvcked actually.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SatanBurger oh I wasn't trying to say he was out the hood, he was always in it, he just never left. He wasn't very famous yet so he still lived in the same hood, did the same shit. But even with having two kids & just gotten married, you'd think he'd have wised up & got away from that life
SW-User
I grew up in some shitty parts of Cincinnati and saw a lot of 16-20 year olds get killed every year over dumb shit it's sad but like you said he brought that evil into his life and that's what it cost him
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User crazy thing is so many 16-20 year olds are actually most of the people doing the killing these days when it comes to that gang shit too. It comes from being young & feeling like they have to prove themselves. It's being taken so far these days it's sad
Chickie · F
@SW-User Here in Jackson, a festival got cancelled because a 14 year old pulled out a gun and I think killed an officer. These young people are different these days they don't care how they live their life.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Chickie I used to go to school with kids who carried guns. I remember my first time seeing a 13 year old walk off campus & pull a gun out of his pants my first thought was "wtf you had that on you all day?"
SW-User
Being careful is rarely on young people's minds these days. But that does not excuse the violence that has occured. May he rest in peace.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User Very true 🤙 I was extremely reckless in my younger days.. even up until recently. Takes a lot to open your eyes sometimes
Interesting how part of his name basically translates into English as "Prick"...
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@HootyTheNightOwl which part? 😂 I have no idea what the "Lul" is for but I know the TYS in his name stands for Take Yo Stuff 🤣
@ChiefJustWalks "Lul" is something akin to "Prick" (a slur on the male genitalia) - in Dutch... so I'm guessing that he borrowed a word from the Amish along the way.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
That’s sad
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
@ChiefJustWalks How did he die? was it gun violence?
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@TurtlePink yeah. A car ambushed him & a friend at an apartment complex. It erupted into a shootout & he's the only one who died
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
@ChiefJustWalks that’s messed up. I wish they would stop shooting each other
ExtremeNext · 31-35
Maybe they just didn't like his music 🤔 you don't see little Miley or Britney getting shot at 😩
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@ExtremeNext maybe Miley & Britney don't talk about what gang they're from enough... or how many people they've killed 🤔😅
ExtremeNext · 31-35
Iwillwait · M
@ChiefJustWalks Dropping the "N," word every other line is another prob.
Iwillwait · M
@ChiefJustWalks that kid looked pretty pale to meh!
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Iwillwait yeah he's half white 😂 but he's in a Mexican gang so somebody embraced him I guess 🤷
Iwillwait · M
@ChiefJustWalks Yeah,sounds like it..
Iwillwait · M
Ain't no way a guy can run his mouth like that without repercussions.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Iwillwait for sure. He was dissing every single one of his dead enemies in this song. Streets don't take that shit lightly at all.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Every time I hear about something like this, I just get depressed. Has nothing to do with the style of music or skin color or any of that shit...a young man is gone. Forever. Name anyone, Pop Smoke, XXXTENTACION, idc, it's a fucking tragedy. That life doesn't get to play out...all over some dumb shit. Ain't that some shit?

And who knows what good could have come from them living their lives, having experiences and learning...the journey was interrupted. F**k, I hate it. 😢
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@ChiefJustWalks That hurts to know. Did not have to be that way. The thing that's often missing in teens/early 20s is PERSPECTIVE, the concept of "the long game". I didn't know that about Nipsey. :(
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@uncalled4 you're right about that for sure. Took me a long time to get there as well. But Nipsey's was sad. I'd been listening to him for about 10 years before he passed
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@ChiefJustWalks I'm glad you're there, wise in your ways.
Sorry to hear that. I’m always sad when young people don’t get the chance to grow past youthful missteps. People who might’ve contributed a lot to our world are lost before they’ve even really found their footing. 😞
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@bijouxbroussard well said.. if I had a dollar for every friend who didn't make it out, I'd be pretty set. It's fucking sad
SW-User
What a waste.

Tbh it's not much better where I am rn. Too many men with a point to prove. Only thing most of them prove is their own stupidity.
SW-User
@ChiefJustWalks Yeah I've wondered that about myself recently.

I mean, I always said I did what I needed to survive but tbh a lot of it was/is not really necessary.

And I don't even have to worry about gangs or rivals. Just the small possibilty that I might get shot by the IRA for being involved in drugs ☠️
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User sadly a lot of it gets titled as our way to survive but honestly one thing I had to realize myself is when I was doing the craziest shit.. most of it I did because I wanted to. The influences around you make you desire the same things. When you see your homies celebrating over shooting an enemy you celebrate with them & you feel left out for not being a part of it. Then the next time shit goes down, you got a gun in your hand & you're not thinking about the people you're shooting at or the fact that they have families too. You just think "the homies will respect this".

When it goes too far it's not about survival anymore... even though that's how it started off. But damn man. I hope you get away from that 👌 I was never an IRA level dealer but I used to sell a lot. It's not worth the risk man
SW-User
@ChiefJustWalks yeah man it's stupid. I need to gtfo myself.

The way I see it, I finish with it or it finishes me. It's not a business you see too many old men in 😅
Lilnonames · F
You starting trouble between the s w gangs
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Lilnonames tell 'em come outside then 😂
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@ChiefJustWalks Meet me outside, meet me outside, meet me outside lol
